Know what to say?

Ever feel like you don’t know exactly what to pray?  Well, the Bible says [Romans 8] that even if you don’t know how to pray, the Holy Spirit will translate whatever you pray into perfect language.  The story’s told of a Scottish Presbyterian pastor who prayed long prayers with lofty language.  A woman in the congregation spoke up and got right to the point, “Just call him Father and ask Him for something.” 

Here’s my prescription: Plan today to move your prayer life to the next level.  You don’t have to be a theologian to talk to God.  Just talk like a friend.  Like a child to a loving dad.  Pray with confidence.  You can’t make a mistake—the Holy Spirit will translate your words.  You can’t lose—unless you don’t pray.

“In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words…”   Romans 8:26 (NASB)
